Singer, songwriter and worship leader Patrick Mayberry released his new six-song Holy Spirit Come EP on November 5 from Centricity Music.  Patrick has a very smooth, very versatile vocal that many will enjoy. His vocals and spirit are that of today’s top worship leaders.  You can tell he spent countless hours capturing, on this EP, what the Lord wanted his church to hear. Songs from this project are ones you will need to add to your playlist.

The title cut of this EP, “Holy Spirit Come”, has a feel to it that will usher you in and have you expecting the Holy Spirit to invade wherever you are listening. This song is one that congregations across the world will undoubtedly be singing in their houses of worship and many will sing it in their personal time with the Lord as well. It is a song that starts out taking you into the presence of the Lord and expecting a move of the Holy Spirit. A driving song, but one that you will relate to, the title track brings a freshness to an encounter with Christ.

Additional songs on this EP that speak to me directly are “How You Love Me” and “Breakthrough Miracle Power.” The way the words of “How You Love Me” are sung reminds me of how much the Lord truly loves me no matter what I feel or think. He is one that will love me no matter how bad I may feel about a situation or how alone I am when someone has not been there. The rich acoustic guitar, various instrumental breaks, and the blending of the assorted instruments give you the emotion of His love surrounding you with each note played.

With Mayberry’s cover of “Breakthrough Miracle Power”, a proclamation of His power can be heard in these lyrics. It’s a song that will remind you that in every situation there is a Breakthrough Miracle Power that will come and heal your mind, body, and spirit. The different rhythms, dynamic swells and strong piano presence bring that feeling of strongholds being broken. There is a sound that makes you sense the Angels are all around. There is a time when the beat is forceful enough to give the sense of the chains, that are holding the believer captive, being torn apart link by link.

This is my first opportunity to hear a project from Patrick Mayberry and I am sure it will not be the last time.  This Centricity artist is one to keep an eye on and I hope to hear more from him soon. The Holy Spirit Come EP is one that inspires, challenges, and encourages the body of Christ to see exactly how much the Lord loves each of us.
