Truly incredible things happen when we unite for a common cause. At last count, $811,813.39 was raised at Passion 2016 for Project Haraka, a mission to build a hospital for women and children in Syria. This hospital will provide care for more than 12,000 displaced Syrian women and children every year in the war torn region. And, through a partnership with World Vision USA, the facility will become the first newborn ICU in NW Syria. “We aren’t fleeing from the need, we are actually leaning into the need,” Pastor Louie Giglio says.
Over 40,000 young adults from all 50 states, 51 countries and more than 1,600 universities gathered across three locations in Atlanta (Infinite Energy Arena and Philips Arena) and Houston (Toyota Center) January 2-4 for Passion 2016. In addition to raising funds for Project Haraka, 10,000 towels and 60,000 pairs of socks were collected to address a tangible need in the surrounding communities.
