Matthew West tops both the Billboard Christian Airplay Chart and Mediabase U.S. Christian AC Music Chart with “Me On Your Mind.” Penned by West with Jeff Pardo and Anne Wilson, the poignant track, which has garnered over 12 million streams, marks the 12th number one song for West as an artist, his 24th top 10 hit as an artist and his 25th number one song as an artist and songwriter. It is also his fourth chart-topper in a row following “What If,” “The God Who Stays,” and “Truth Be Told.” Adding to the excitement, he is set to release a duet version featuring Anne Wilson on August 12.
“I woke up to the news that “Me on Your Mind,” is #1 and I’m completely blown away,” shares West. “I am thankful for an amazing team at Provident Label Group, and specifically to Jeff Cruz, Charles Van Dyke and the amazing radio team who have championed one song after another and carried them to our radio friends across the country. I remember telling my wife the idea of this song about how God has us on his mind while we were on a walk one day. I was looking ahead as we walked down the road and didn’t hear much of a response from her. But when I turned to look at her, she had tears in her eyes and quietly said, “you need to write that song.” It was a rare moment when I could tell a song was going to be special even before it was finished. It’s exciting to see the song resonate in a similar way with so many people and I hope all who hear it will be powerfully reminded that no one is just a face in the crowd. We are known, seen, listened to, and loved by the God of all grace.”
