Singer-songwriter and producer Kira Fontana has released her new song, “Beauty for Ashes,” a resonating anthem of healing and redemption. Driven by the depth of her own personal spiritual transformation, Fontana sings “You’ve taken the broken in me, and made it beautiful to see. You raised me up, no one else gives beauty for ashes.” “This song is about God taking the broken in my life that had to die, and giving me a new life filled with radical beauty,” recalled Fontana. A proclamation of hope, “Beauty for Ashes” unites listeners and worshipers of Jesus with the reality of spiritual death and resurrection in Christ.
“’Beauty For Ashes’ started so intimate and raw,” shared Fontana, “then I felt the majesty of God and immense wonder that He calls us out of darkness into His glorious light.” The new song propels the listener on their own journey from brokenness to restoration, ending with an epic musical and lyrical climax reiterating the name of Jesus. “What Jesus did was the greatest act of love the human race has ever seen,” Fontana expressed. “Beauty for Ashes” declares “there is no greater love, no name above.”
Fontana drew inspiration from Isaiah 61:3 (NLT), “To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.”
The new single was produced by Fontana and Grammy-winner Josh “Igloo” Monroy (JoJo, Andra Day) and written by Fontana, a singer-songwriter, producer, and the founder of Kingdom Sound. “Beauty for Ashes” is available across all major streaming services on February 5, 2021. This spring, Fontana plans to release her forthcoming album, ‘Refuge’ on Kingdom Sound.
