NewSong's 'The Best Christmas Ever' Points Listeners To The Reason We Celebrate Christmas

The Best Christmas Ever!, the third full-length holiday release from GRAMMY-nominated NewSong, is now available for download from HHM Records/Word Distribution. Featuring 10 favorites from the group’s best-selling projects The Christmas Shoes (2001) and The Christmas Hope (2006), The Best Christmas Ever! also showcases five newly recorded songs: the title-cut and lead single (co-witten by NewSong's Eddie Carswell and Matthew West), a duet with Love & The Outcome’s Jodi King; “This Christmas”; “Sweet Little Jesus Boy”; “My Heart’s With You,” featuring Bethany Cruz; and “The King Is Born,” spotlighting NewSong’s Matt Butler on cello. In addition to such previously recorded favorites, the album is highlighted by a live rendition of “The Christmas Shoes,” in celebration of the 15th anniversary of NewSong’s GRAMMY-nominated multi-format hit. The songs on The Best Christmas Ever will cause listeners to reminisce of joyful memories of Christmas’ past and look forward to the quickly approaching holiday season.

bestchristmaseverThe album opens with the title track, “The Best Christmas Ever.” This fun, upbeat song sings of the anticipation wrapped up in the approach of the Christmas season. All of our favorite aspects of Christmas are named in the chorus: “When the snow starts falling, friends come calling, you can feel the love in the air. Singing carols by the fire, presents piling higher, it’s your favorite time of the year … it’s gonna be the best Christmas ever.”

“The King is Born” stands apart from many of the other songs on the album. It is an entirely instrumental medley of Christmas classics “Away In A Manger” and “O Come O Come Emanuel.” The only instruments used in the track are strings – beautiful violin and deep cello. The first song flows seamlessly into the second, and creates a hauntingly beautiful piece of music.

“The Christmas Hope” tells the story of a woman who does not feel the same joy and peace expressed by many in the Christmas season. But the story moves to a place of hope as the lyrics say, “But isn’t it amazing how God brings a heart back to life. She’s smiling now. She’s finding out what Christmas hope is all about.” Christmas is truly a story about the hope of “a Savior born in a manger, sent down from heaven to rescue our hearts.”

Newsong’s latest holiday album has something for people of every walk of life to enjoy. It is joyful, beautiful, and full of hope – always pointing listeners to the reason we celebrate Christmas. Newsong will begin their “Very Merry Christmas Tour” in December to spread the Christmas cheer with songs from The Best Christmas Ever to more than 10 cities this year.
