Comprised of founding member Jonathan Buckner, along with Zachary Alvis, Tyler Robertson, Josh Hicks and Chris Stockwell, Chosen Road has carved a singular niche in the musical landscape with their world-class Appalachian instrumentation combined with a passion for sharing and living the Gospel. Since 2009, the group has garnered six Top 10 bluegrass radio singles. Among their bestselling projects, last year’s Appalachian Christmas debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart, while 2020’s Appalachian Worship and 2021’s Appalachian Hymns each spent multiple weeks in the Top 10 on the same chart. Earlier this summer, Chosen Road returned with the much-anticipated new full-length set, It Never Gets Old. Steeped in tradition with a nod to the future, It Never Gets Old showcases 13 songs, including the most newly-penned tracks the band has featured on a project to date.

In this TCB exclusive, Chosen Road founding member Jonathan Buckner talks about their new release, It Never Gets Old. Buckner shares the 3-4 year evolution of the project, while highlighting several tracks. He reveals the song most relevant to his current season of life, the song that has most changed meaning for him over the course of album creation, the song he most enjoys playing live, and the song that listeners will share impact stories about. Buckner discuss a track the band was commissioned to write by North American Mission Board’s Church Replant and Revitalization Team, which helps to bring awareness about the number of rural churches closing their doors each year. Finally, he shares a message of impact and what’s next for the band.
