Multi-platinum-selling performer and award-winning songwriter Dante Bowe can now add multi-Dove Award winner to his resume. He took home his first solo win as an artist with Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “joyful.” He celebrates the win of Elevation Worship/Maverick City Music’s Old Church Basement for Worship Album of the Year, on which he contributed songwriting and vocals. In addition to his wins, Dante teamed up with Kelontae Gavin for a very special performance of ‘joyful.’
“I’ve dreamt my entire life to do something so significant,” says Dante of his win. “Even though I’m not where I want to be, these awards just remind me of how far I’ve come and give me a glimpse into the future and of what’s to come. What’s really sweet was having my parents, grandmother, and really close friends there for this moment. My family is the motivation behind everything I do.”
Earlier this year, Dante released his sophomore album and Bethel Music label debut, circles. The incredibly personal album quickly shot to the top of the charts, debuting at No. 7 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. The lead single, ‘joyful,’ reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Gospel Digital Song Sales and No. 3 on Hot Gospel Songs, making it the highest solo charting position of his career. The follow up single, ‘family tree,’ premiered on BET marking his first televised debut. Next spring, Dante will join four-time GRAMMY Award winning duo for KING & COUNTRY on the road for the ‘What Are We Waiting For? – The Tour.” The 33-date trek will make stops in arenas throughout the United States beginning on March 31st in Southaven, MS before traveling through Chicago, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and more then wrapping in Franklin, TN on March 22nd.
