Today (Aug 23), multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY Award nominee Cory Asbury shares a live studio sessions video for his latest single “Misunderstood.” The track is from his highly-anticipated fifth studio album coming in the fall titled Pioneer. “Misunderstood” incorporates moving steel guitar and piano, backing lyrics that speak to seasons of anxiety and depression and the outside pressures to be perfect through it all.

“A few years back, my wife went through an intense time of anxiety and postpartum depression,” shares Asbury. “She wanted so badly to be “normal” in the middle of it all. I kept having to remind her, “It’s ok to not be ok.” We’re all broken. Being perfect isn’t the point of this whole “being human” experiment. I hope sharing this experience helps others not feel so alone in their journey to contentment.”
