The END IT Movement, a coalition of the world’s leading organizations in the fight for freedom, celebrates the 4th annual ‘Shine A Light on Slavery Day’ on February 25, 2016. END IT is comprised of 16 coalition partners who are on the ground everyday bringing awareness, prevention, rescue and restoration to those who are trapped in slavery.
The END IT Movement, united with their Coalition Partners, work to expose the harsh reality that more people are trapped in slavery around the world today than any other time in history. On February 25, 2016, END IT is encouraging Freedom Fighters nationwide to draw a red ‘X’ on their hands and share this symbol virally as a representation of the estimated more than 27 million people trapped in slavery today. Many of your favorite CCM artists joined the movement sharing selfies on social media today.
END IT recognizes slavery is one person completely controlling another person, using violence or the threat of violence to maintain that control. For more information on how you can join, please visit www.enditmovement.com.
Today is the day we shine a light on the darkest reality – there are upwards of 30 million slaves in the world. Most of them under the age of 18. They are being ravaged and exploited. This is not just a cause for some to get involved in. This is an issue for every single human being. WE MUST speak up. I’m grateful to the END IT Movement for raising awareness and compelling a generation to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. We all can do something. -Natalie Grant
