'The Very Next Thing' Tour Hosts Inspiring Night Of Worship

This past Saturday, “The Very Next Thing” Tour found its way to Pittsburgh, PA. Comprised of Casting Crowns, Danny Gokey, and Unspoken, the concert featured over 3 hours of back-to-back music, worship, and God’s Word.

Unspoken opened up the show with energy, sharing a few of their hit songs such as “Start A Fire” and “The Cure,” the latter released last year on their album Follow Through. The band also took a few moments to showcase their musical talents and humor when they took turns covering the bandmates’ favorites tunes, ranging from the Macarena to Santana’s “Smooth.”

Following Unspoken, Gokey immediately took to the stage and captivated the audience’s attention all at once. Gokey’s vocals were impressive and passionate, his music inviting, and his lyrics relatable and worshipful. Along with performing some of his well-known hits such as “Tell Your Heart To Beat Again” and “Rise,” Gokey also treated the crowd to a duet with Casting Crowns’ Megan Garrett on his song “Better Than I Found It,” featured on his new album released earlier this year.

Finally, Grammy and Dove Award-winning Casting Crowns arrived on stage, putting on a phenomenal show and worship experience. Lead vocalist and youth pastor Mark Hall’s gifted ability at preaching and connecting to a crowd rivals his effortless vocals. One of the best aspects of this group is that each member of the Crowns crew brings something unique to the group- different yet complementary vocals and skillful musicality on a variety of instruments from piano to violin to percussion. Casting Crowns performed a few songs off their newest album whose title shares the Tour’s name, as well as some of their emotional classics like “Praise You In This Storm,” and fresh, acoustic renditions of “Does Anybody Hear Her” and “Who Am I” by vocalist Megan Garrett.

This tour offers a night you don’t want to miss. “The Very Next Thing” Tour wraps up in early June after visiting more cities in the U.S., concluding with a few international stops.
