Multi-GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Michael W. Smith offered up a moving performance this past week as the nation mourned the passing of President George H.W. Bush. Smith performed at the funeral service for the 41st President, who fought a long battle with vascular Parkinson's disease. You can see his performance of "Friends" below.
Afterward, Michael called the opportunity an “honor beyond words" in an interview with CBN News. Reflecting on his last encounter with President Bush, Smith shared, "The last time I saw him when we said goodbye, he gave me a hug, pointed his finger in the air, and with a twinkle in his eye, said, ‘Friends are friends forever.’”
