Hillsong UNITED's Taya Smith tied the knot this past weekend in what has been described as a beautiful and joyous ceremony. "We got married yesterday and it was the GREATEST. I highly recommend it," Taya shared on social media. "It was like that because of Jesus and the people He has placed in our life for such a time as this and we are blown away by all the love, support and kindness."
Taya has notoriously kept quiet on personal life matters including the identity of her now husband, referred to only as "Ben G." Smith was surrounded by friends and family at the St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Sydney Australia.
Fellow UNITED member Jonathon "JD" Douglass officiated the ceremony. "Marrying a couple is something I count as a high honor... When its people who you love and have become an older brother to, then it is beyond words," JD posted alongside photos on Instagram.
A similar congratulatory message was posted by Hillsong's Brooke Ligertwood who added, "Our TayTay is a married woman! She was the most STUNNING bride today — my eyes couldn't even take it in — I'm dictating this caption to Scotty to write because my eyes haven't recovered from how ridiculously beautiful she was."
Smith thanked Liz Martinez Bridal for gifting a beautiful dress. "I’ll never forget the moment I stepped out from behind the curtain, nervously holding my breath as I hadn’t seen the dress in the mirror and didn’t know how I felt. My best friend’s mouth was hanging open but I couldn’t tell if it was good shock or bad until @k_fielding started to cry and I knew maybe it was good shock."
