Danny Gokey is preparing to release new music with a new label. Billboard first reported the news that the GRAMMY-nominated CCM singer/songwriter has signed with Capitol Christian Music Group.
"Danny Gokey is an artist we have admired since we heard his voice for the very first time,” Peter York, Chairman/CEO Capitol Christian Music Group, said. “We are genuinely honored to have him join our family of artists. Our team is highly motivated and excited to represent him in the marketplace. His songs encourage listeners with a message of hope and compassion, things this world could use a lot more of.”
Gokey began writing for a new album in January with tentative plans to release a single this fall and a full album in early 2019. Gokey says he hopes this new relationship with Capitol CMG will lead to growth. "Growth in a lot of ways: creatively, musically, with my brand and with content creation for engaging fans and listeners," he explained to Billboard. "Capitol has an amazing team that are at the top of their game on so many levels, so I am looking forward to tapping into those resources to help me grow."
Danny Gokey became a favorite of millions of fans as a Top 3 finalist on Season 8 of American Idol, which propelled his career and earned him four chart-topping albums (My Best Days, Hope In Front of Me, Christmas Is Here and Rise) and a Barnes & Noble Top 5 autobiography (Hope In Front of Me). Gokey's debut album was released by 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville with later projects coming with the support of BMG.
You can currently see Danny Gokey live in concert on TobyMac's 2018 “HITS DEEP Tour” with Mandisa, Ryan Stevenson and Finding Favour, running through March 18.
