18 year-old Aaron Cole started rapping when he was just three years old, and at the age of four he released his first album. With now six independent projects released in his young career, he is now the newest addition to the Gotee Records roster. Aaron has officially debuted his first single, accompanied by a music video, titled “Right On Time” and featuring Gotee founder and multi-GRAMMY winning artist TobyMac. “It’s been a long time since Gotee has signed a hip-hop/R&B artist,” shares TobyMac. “Honestly, I’ve just been waiting for the right person. And I'm really excited to say....we've finally found that artist in Aaron Cole. He is extremely gifted, dedicated to his craft and truly passionate about God. Aaron is READY, ready to use his gift of music to light it up in a way that only he can, and the timing is perfect.” Cole will be hitting the road with TobyMac and other CCM staples on his 2019 HITS DEEP Tour. The tour, which kicks off January 29, will trek 34 stops nationwide including concerts at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Atlanta’s Infinite Energy Arena, Hoffman Estates’ Sears Centre Arena, Newark’s Prudential Center and more.
Throughout the summer and early fall, you released several new tracks. What is the bigger plan look like for new music going forward?
Cole Season was amazing. I work so much I decided to give my fans what they wanted and keep feeding them with music. The plan moving forward now is to do my first full length project and really make a statement and then start touring on my own to continue to build my fan base and change my generation.
At the end of January, you'll be hitting the road on TobyMac's HITS DEEP Tour. When did you first meet TobyMac and how has your relationship grown?
I met Toby when I was 15 cause that’s when he first heard of me and wanted to sign me and man we’ve just built from there. We’ve made music together and also a lot of good hangs from being on tour and playing basketball together. You get close when you get to trash talking on the court. haha
Of the 34 upcoming tour stops, are there any shows you are especially looking forward to?
Probably Nashville, Charlotte, and Dallas. Mainly because that’s where most of my family and friends will be. But also Chicago because I’m a DIE HARD BULLS FAN so let’s go!
What must-have items do you want to take with you on the road?
Gummies for sure.
How would you describe your sound to brand new listeners?
I’m a mix of hardcore hip hop with soul/r&b vibes and pop elements so I’m what you call hybrid. I express myself in many ways; all with the same message of bringing people closer to God in their relationship and giving them a soundtrack to go out and get their dreams every day.
What is your favorite song to perform live right now?
My song called “Einstein”!
How do you stay rejuvenated and grounded on a long tour like HITS DEEP night after night?
I have so many spiritual advisors that keep me accountable and check up on me that keep me grounded. Community is a big issue right now. I feel like in the church and in our walks it’s so important to have people to do life with that keep you accountable.
If there is one message you hope people take away from the upcoming tour stops, what would it be?
God is real and if He can use an imperfect Bristol, VA kid he can use you too.
Who are some of the most-listened-to artists or bands on your phone right now?
Right now I’m listening to Stevie Wonder, J Moss, Kirk Franklin, old school Chris Brown, J Cole, Jon Bellion, Tori Kelly, Fabulous, Elevation Worship and a bunch of Christmas music.
