Jesus Culture Set To Release New Live Album This Summer

As the Outcry Spring 2017 Tour made its way to Pittsburgh, PA we went backstage to talk with Jesus Culture Music's worship leader Chris Quilala. During our interview, Chris revealed that the Jesus Culture team is gearing up to release a new live album this summer. This new record was recently recorded at their home church in Sacramento, CA and has a tentative release date of late July/early August.

Chris shared that in all, they recorded about 19 live songs and now are working to narrow down that tracklisting. The new record will reportedly feature a special live version of Kim Walker-Smith's "Fresh Outpouring." Aside from this pre-released track, all other songs of the upcoming Jesus Culture album are expected to be brand new.

When asked about the concept behind this upcoming release, Quilala shared, "A couple lyrics for several songs – one of them being 'Flood The Earth' that Katie Torwalt does, and that lyric ‘flood the earth’ was also in one of Kim’s songs and I said it on one of my songs in a spontaneous moment. So the fresh outpouring of the spirit of God’s presence flooding the earth is a common theme. There is a thread that definitely goes through the whole album."

Additionally, Chris added: "I wrote a song with friends called 'Make Us One' that is about the church coming together and setting aside our fences, which is a needed message at this point in time."
